Melissa Slocum

Instructor Bio:

Ms. Slocum has been teaching for 28 years, the past 12 from her own private studio. She has a Certification in Piano Pedagogy from Valley City State University (North Dakota) and did undergraduate work in Communication at the University of Wisconsin. Her passion is to provide individualized, quality lessons in a positive environment. She keeps a large and diverse network of contacts from around the world and frequently takes masterclasses, webinars, and classes from today's leading piano teachers, professors, coaches, and composers. Formal, classical piano lessons from age 5-18 gave her a solid foundation in repertoire and performing. Playing clarinet, singing, learning guitar, conducting, and leading worship groups added to her musical breadth and experience. Currently, Ms. Slocum lives in the Atlanta, GA area with her husband, two teenagers and two rescue dogs.
